Today in Math we discussed what accountable talk should sound like when working in our math groups. Accountable talk should involve the sharing of ideas, patience, staying on topic, being open-minded, thinking-out-loud, asking questions, visualizing, taking turns sharing, listening and looking at peer who is sharing and getting involved! THEN we split into groups and solved the following problems:

1. What two, 2 digit numbers can you subtract to equal 85?     
     Try and find all possible answers. Do you see a pattern?
2. What two numbers can you subtract to equal 6?

We did well today but need to continue practising accountable talk while working in math groups. Challenge your child to solve these problems again while at home!
